Template extension

Stencil extension is a nail extension technique where gel or acrylic is built directly onto a sculpting stencil. After curing, the stencil is removed, leaving a strong, natural-looking artificial nail – without glued-on tips. This method allows for individual nail shapes and lengths and is especially used in professional nail design. Dual Tips (Popits) are considered an alternative for acrylic gel modeling.

Nail Form Extension for Natural and Stable Nail Enhancements

The nail form extensionis one of the most popular techniques in professional nail design. Unlike the classic tip technique, the artificial nail is built directly on a self-adhesive sculpting form. After curing, the form is removed, resulting in a stable and particularly natural nail extension. This method is suitable for both gel and acrylic enhancements and offers maximum flexibility in shape and length.

Sculpting forms can be individually adapted to the natural nail and allow for precise extensions without visible transitions. This makes them ideal for elegant natural looks as well as for modern nail shapes such as Almond, Coffin, Square, or Stiletto. Additionally, pinching clamps or pinching tools are used to create a harmonious C-curve.

In addition to the classic nail form technique, Dual Tips (Popits)have established themselves as a popular alternative. While with Popits, the acrylgel is worked into a reusable form, with nail form extensions, the entire nail is built freely on the form. Both techniques have their advantages and enable professional results – depending on personal working methods and experience.

With high-quality forms, builder gels, acrylgels, and the right accessories from emmi®NAIL, you can achieve long-lasting nail enhancements with high stability and a natural look – both in the salon and at home.

FAQ

With stencil extensions, a self-adhesive sculpting stencil is placed under the natural nail. Gel or acrylic is then sculpted on top. After curing, the stencil is removed, and the nail is further built up.

With the stencil technique, the nail is sculpted freely on a stencil. Popits (Dual Tips), on the other hand, are filled with acrylic gel, placed on the natural nail, and removed again after curing. Both methods do not require permanently glued-on tips but differ in processing.

The stencil extension is particularly suitable for advanced users and professional nail designers. It offers maximum freedom in terms of nail shape, length, and structure.

You will need nail forms, UV gel or acrylic gel, primer, cleaner, files, and a UV/LED lamp. Depending on the technique, pinching tools or pinching pliers may also be used.

Since no tips are glued on, a particularly natural transition between the natural nail and the artificial nail is created. In addition, individual nail shapes such as square, almond, coffin or stiletto can be precisely sculpted.
