LED nail lamps
A UV LED nail lamp is a light-curing device for curing suitable UV and LED-curing nail products. It is used for gel modeling, shellac or UV nail polish and other light-curing nail systems. Modern UV/LED nail lamps combine different wavelengths and, depending on the model, are equipped with a timer, motion sensor, low-heat function, rechargeable battery, or removable base plate. For reliable curing, the lamp and the nail product used must be technically compatible.
FAQ
For gel and shellac or UV nail polish, a UV/LED nail lamp is suitable if the products used are intended for the respective light spectrum. The wattage alone is not the decisive factor. Always note the specified curing time and lamp recommendation of the respective nail product.
Classic UV lamps often work with replaceable UV tubes. Modern LED or UV/LED lamps use LEDs and—depending on the wavelength range used—can polymerize different light-curing nail products. Combination devices are therefore particularly practical for many gel and UV polish systems today.
The required power depends on the device and the nail product used. A higher wattage does not automatically mean better or faster curing. Decisive factors include, among others, the LED arrangement, wavelengths, exposure time, and the composition of the material used.
A low-heat mode reduces or increases the power output in a controlled manner during curing. This makes the heat generated during the polymerization of certain modeling gels feel more comfortable. This function can be particularly practical for thicker build-up layers.
For professional studio use, features such as an automatic sensor, various timers, a low-heat mode, and a removable base plate are practical. Cordless models with a rechargeable battery also allow for flexible positioning in the workspace. Uniform illumination of the nail area and compatibility with the materials used are also important.
